Russia stocks lower at close of trade; MOEX Russia Index unchanged

Investing.com – Russia stocks were lower after the close on Saturday, as in the sectors led shares .

At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia Index unchanged 0.00% to hit a new 1-month low.

The best performers of the session on the MOEX Russia Index were Transneft PJSC Pref (MCX:TRNF_p), which rose 0.22% or 3.00 points to trade at 1,292.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Surgutneftegas PJSC (MCX:SNGS) added 0.20% or 0.05 points to end at 22.32 and Bank VTB PJSC (MCX:VTBR) was up 0.18% or 0.14 points to 76.00 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were PIK SHb PJSC (MCX:PIKK), which fell 1.94% or 11.70 points to trade at 590.60 at the close. OK Rusal MKPAO (MCX:RUAL) declined 1.23% or 0.41 points to end at 32.99 and PhosAgro PJSC (MCX:PHOR) was down 1.17% or 83.00 points to 7,033.00.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 110 to 102 and 18 ended unchanged.

The Russian Volatility Index – RVI, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia Index options, was up 4.81% to 33.56.

Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.35% or 12.80 to $3,686.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 0.51% or 0.32 to hit $62.69 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 0.93% or 0.62 to trade at $66.99 a barrel.

USD/RUB was down 0.59% to 84.00, while EUR/RUB fell 0.59% to 98.57.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.01% at 97.54.
