Germany stocks mixed at close of trade; DAX down 0.75%

Investing.com – Germany stocks were mixed after the close on Friday, as gains in the Food & Beverages, Utilities and Technology sectors led shares higher while losses in the Construction, Software and Insurance sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX declined 0.75%, while the MDAX index climbed 0.62%, and the TecDAX index climbed 0.13%.

The best performers of the session on the DAX were Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p), which rose 2.60% or 4.90 points to trade at 193.20 at the close. Meanwhile, Vonovia SE (ETR:VNAn) added 2.49% or 0.65 points to end at 26.77 and E.ON SE (ETR:EONGn) was up 1.68% or 0.25 points to 15.18 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were SAP SE (ETR:SAPG), which fell 2.12% or 4.95 points to trade at 228.25 at the close. MTU Aero Engines NA O.N. (ETR:MTXGn) declined 1.87% or 6.90 points to end at 361.80 and Siemens AG Class N (ETR:SIEGn) was down 1.76% or 4.05 points to 226.00.

The top performers on the MDAX were Wacker Chemie O.N. (ETR:WCHG) which rose 4.39% to 64.25, Thyssenkrupp AG O.N. (ETR:TKAG) which was up 3.79% to settle at 9.79 and Delivery Hero AG (ETR:DHER) which gained 3.67% to close at 25.11.

The worst performers were Redcare Pharmacy NV (ETR:RDC) which was down 2.49% to 72.50 in late trade, DWS Group GmbH & Co KgaA (ETR:DWSG) which lost 1.99% to settle at 51.80 and Puma SE (ETR:PUMG) which was down 1.72% to 19.72 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were SMA Solar Technology AG (ETR:S92G) which rose 10.50% to 18.94, SUSS MicroTec SE (ETR:SMHNn) which was up 3.99% to settle at 25.56 and Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) which gained 2.70% to close at 5.86.

The worst performers were Draegerwerk VZO O.N. (ETR:DRWG_p) which was down 2.63% to 66.60 in late trade, SAP SE (ETR:SAPG) which lost 2.12% to settle at 228.25 and Eckert & Ziegler AG O.N. (ETR:EUZG) which was down 1.75% to 16.30 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 299 to 289 and 36 ended unchanged.

Shares in Redcare Pharmacy NV (ETR:RDC) fell to 52-week lows; falling 2.49% or 1.85 to 72.50.

The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 4.86% to 16.85.

Gold Futures for December delivery was up 1.24% or 44.70 to $3,651.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 3.07% or 1.95 to hit $61.53 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 2.76% or 1.85 to trade at $65.14 a barrel.

EUR/USD was up 0.89% to 1.18, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.14% to 0.87.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.91% at 97.41.
