Taiwan stocks lower at close of trade; Taiwan Weighted down 1.96%

Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the , Electronic Parts/Components and Oil, Gas & Electricity sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted fell 1.96%.

The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Aero Win Technology Corp (TW:8222), which rose 9.93% or 5.40 points to trade at 59.80 at the close. Meanwhile, Avision Inc (TW:2380) added 9.91% or 0.32 points to end at 3.55 and Goodway Machine Corp (TW:1583) was up 9.90% or 5.20 points to 57.70 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Chenming Mold Industrial Corp (TW:3013), which fell 8.45% or 7.80 points to trade at 84.50 at the close. Alchip Technologies Ltd (TW:3661) declined 8.05% or 190.00 points to end at 2,170.00 and Choice Development Inc (TW:9929) was down 7.93% or 1.15 points to 13.35.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 0 to 0.

Shares in Aero Win Technology Corp (TW:8222) rose to 52-week highs; rising 9.93% or 5.40 to 59.80.

Crude oil for May delivery was up 0.40% or 0.26 to $64.68 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in June rose 3.04% or 2.00 to hit $67.85 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 0.15% or 5.10 to trade at $3,341.30 a troy ounce.

USD/TWD was unchanged 0.00% to 32.52, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.00% to 0.22.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.01% at 99.13.
